Harry & Penelope Seidler
House
One of the highlights of 2006 was a visit by members of the
Society to this truly outstanding house in a leafy part of
Killara on Sydney's North Shore.
Led by the late architect's daughter, Polly Seidler, we were
free to explore the interior and surrounds. We learned that
the house was a collaborative project, Penelope Seidler also
having trained as an architect.
Attention to detail was evident everywhere, with materials
and finishes being of a very high standard. There was a masterful
use of space, with large open plan living areas carefully
separated from bedrooms, office, and study.
Design and completion 1966-1967.
Architects: Harry and Penelope Seidler.
N.B. Interior photographs were not permitted, as the house
is occupied.
