NEVILLE GRUZMAN

Montrose Apartments, Neutral Bay, 1954 to 1955.

This group of flats is a the only realised portion of a projected much larger development. This building reflects the optimism and excitement of new technology and prefabrication. For example, the glazing is a patent glazing system more usually associated with industrial buildings. Into this was inserted adjustable glass louvres. The electrical system was fully prefabricated, and designed to be installed after the completion of the building fabric.

Apart from Montrose, other works of Gruzman featured on this site include Chadwick, Hills, Lasslett, and Darling Point.
