Architecture of Sydney

The work of Neville Gruzman.

Gruzman House, Darling Point, 1958 to 1965.

This is the late architect's own house which has been added to over the years. The house is unusual in that it started life as attached houses divided into four flats. It still accommodates four flats but in a vastly different configuration. Unlike many architects' houses, this one is lush and luxurious. The rooms are adorned with works by artists such as Rodin, Matisse and Toulouse Lautrec. The house was a constant work in progress even some of the furniture having been designed by the architect.

Apart from Darling Point, the other works of Gruzman featured on this site are Chadwick, Hills, Lasslett, and Montrose.
