Architecture of Sydney
The work of Neville Gruzman.
Chadwick House, Forestville, 1961 to 1964.
Strongly influenced by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, on a site chosen by the architect for its profusion of native plants. The original owner was an organist and pianist; also the founder of the roofing company, Chadwick Industries. The house is planned as a series of interlocking hexagons, in order to relate the house to the informal Australian landscape. Landscaping was by Bruce MacKenzie, who designed the native garden.
Apart from Chadwick, other works of Gruzman featured on this site include Hills, Lasslett, Montrose, and Darling Point.
