St. Peter Julian's Catholic Church
641 George Street Haymarket

Designed by architect Terrence Daly, and completed in 1964.

Beautifully designed interior, with specially commissioned artworks. Contributing artists included Irene Kalmar, Stefan Kalmar, and Andor Mezaros. The striking stained glass by Stephen Moor allows light in from above.

Frankly, the photos here aren't very good, and don't show the interior. We will try to cover this building more comprehensively at some stage in the future. If you're in Sydney CBD and get the chance, go inside and have a look around.

HERITAGE ALERT: September 2008
Of some concern is that this church has recently been closed for renovations.
It is not due to re-open until 2009. The nature and extent of the renovations is unknown.
